New Patient Information

What New Patients Should Expect

  1. A call from your physician or hospital
    discharge planner starts the IV referral
    process in motion.
  2. Initial info taken by phone:
    • Patients name
    • IV Therapy
    • Nursing agency
    • Insurance
    • Start of care
  3. PTA reviews physicians’ orders and patient data for completeness and appropriateness.
  4. PTA verifies insurance information and arranges nursing visits as needed.
  5. PTA Pharmacy prepares infusion, assembles supplies and arranges delivery time.
  6. PTA Pharmacy contacts nursing agency to discuss method of administration and start of care.
  7. PTA phones you (new patient), introduces our infusion services and what to expect, and verifies your address and time of home delivery.
  8. The PTA Pharmacy team continues to monitor your progress throughout your entire therapy (PTA stays in contact with the nursing agency, lab, and your physician as needed).
  9. PTA pharmacy team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
